The celebration of Sage Dawa is observed in the 4th month of the lunar calendar which is considered as the holiest month among the Buddhists as this month is known to mark the birth of Buddha including his enlightenment and transformation into the phase of nirvana. The Tamladu festival importantly celebrated by the tribe known as the Digaru Mishmis as they give offerings to the Earth God and Water God to ensure protection against natural calamities and the Lord Jebmalu is supremely worshiped for human welfare and protection of standing crops including domestic animals.

In the festival of Sangken festival the images of Buddha are bathed ceremoniously which also brings closer the beginning of the New Year. To celebrate the re-union of people the Khan festival is celebrated and here the priests tend to tie a piece of wool around people’s neck to honor the belief that this will bring about good luck to them.
